local information

Dunkeld

Considered the Gateway to the Highlands, there are excellent motorways and trunk roads connecting to the South, the West and North to Inverness. Many circular routes of all lengths can be undertaken as day trips from Dunkeld.

Dunkeld is fascinating to walk around, with its combination of scenery, independent and varied shopping and historical places such as the Cathedral, Telford’s Bridge, the Small Houses and Square.

The town is surrounded by world class natural heritage, such as the tree landscapes pioneered by the Duke of Atholl around Dunkeld, the wild life reserve of Loch of the Lowes, and many fine walks in every direction, by river and over mountain.

Golf

‘Golfers could imagine they’d died and gone to heaven!’ As well as the challenging 18 hole local course Dunkeld and Birnam Golf Club, BlairgowrieSt. Andrews and Gleneagles are all within easy reach.
